The day started at 4:00 in the morning when me (Dawn), Libby, Kalynn, Emma, and Zoe had to woke up and rushed to Raleigh–Durham International Airport when we arrived at the airport at around 5:30 AM. We arrived at the gate by 6:30 where we waited to board our 7:05 AM flight. In that half-hour we got Starbucks and Chick-fil-a, we played cards and got some sleep as we had had an early and hectic morning. Once we boarded the plane we knew it would be a long 4 hours to Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) airport for an hour long layover. Once we arrived at FLL, we were full of energy from all of the sleep we got on our flight from RDU to FLL, so we ended up chilling in the lounge and ate a ton of food for our lunch. Once we got on the plane, we got food and read some book we brought with us, I personally read 50 shades of grey, we also watched many Disney movies like Up, The Little Mermaid and Cinderella.
The next layover we had was at Viracopos International Airport (VCP), and it had taken over 8 hours to get to VCP. Our layover at VCP was about an hour until we could get on out final plane to rio de janeiro! When we got on the plane we got dinner and fell asleep because at this point, it's about 10:30PM EST (1:30 AM in Rio) and we woke up at 4:00 AM. The only form of sleep we had in between was a 4 hour nap, we were tired. After a long 23 hour flight, We had finally arrived in Rio De Janeiro at the Santos Dumont Airport. We noticed, once we grabbed our baggage and everything, that there is a station for the Rio De Janeiro light rail. We also noticed that the airport was nearby downtown Rio de Jeneiro
